Getting a +82 Korean Number: Instant Codes or Your Own Line
NumberFlare can give you a South Korean (+82) number either for a single verification code or as a line you keep. Instant OTP starts from $0.20 per code and charges you only when the code arrives, while a Korean Cloud Number for calls and SMS starts from $1.95/month and is available on request after our team confirms availability and any required checks.
Instant OTP vs a Korean Cloud Number at a glance
The two products solve different problems, so it helps to compare them before you spend anything.
Instant OTP is a +82 number for exactly one SMS code. You choose the app, receive the code in a live inbox, and the activation closes after 20 minutes. Price starts from $0.20 per code, and if nothing arrives you are refunded automatically.
A Cloud Number is a +82 number that belongs to your account while it renews. You can call from the browser, receive texts where the number supports SMS, forward calls to your mobile and collect voicemail. Price starts from $1.95/month, and Korean numbers are handled on request.
Pick Instant OTP when you need a code now and never again. Pick a Cloud Number when the number has to work next month too, for example for account recovery or a Seoul-facing customer line.
What can I verify with a South Korea phone number?
Instant OTP for South Korea currently supports more than 550 services. Among them:
- KakaoTalk, the messenger most people in Korea use daily
- LINE
- Telegram and WhatsApp
- Google (Gmail & YouTube), Instagram and Discord
- ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude and Microsoft & Outlook
- Netflix, Amazon and Airbnb
The dashboard shows the live list for Korea, and it can change during the day. Use each app the way its terms allow. NumberFlare is not affiliated with these services, and their names belong to their owners.
A note on Korean identity checks
Many Korean domestic websites, especially banking, shopping and government portals, ask for identity verification linked to a mobile subscription registered in your own name. That process is about proving who you are, not just receiving a text.
A virtual number is not meant for that, and you should not try to use it as a substitute. Instant OTP fits international apps that simply send a code to confirm a phone number, such as messengers, email providers and AI tools.
Getting your +82 verification code in six steps
- Sign up with your email, then enter the 6-digit code from your inbox.
- Add funds to your wallet. The first top-up unlocks purchases.
- In Instant OTP, select the app and then South Korea.
- Copy the +82 number and paste it into the app.
- Wait for the code in the live inbox. It usually appears within a minute or two.
- Enter those digits in the app, and your +82 verification is complete.
Keep the dashboard tab open during the 20-minute window so you see the message as soon as it lands.
How Korean mobile numbers are written
Korean mobile numbers usually start with 010 and are written locally like 010-1234-5678. Internationally, the leading 0 disappears: the same number becomes +82 10 1234 5678.
When a form has a country dropdown, choose South Korea (+82) and type the number starting with 10. When it has one open field, type +82 and then the rest without the 0. Hyphens are optional in most forms, but some reject them, so plain digits are the safer choice.
Codes from Korean apps such as KakaoTalk often arrive in Korean (Hangul). The digits are easy to spot even if you do not read the language.
No code on your Korean number? Try this
- Wait out the window. A late message can still arrive within the 20 minutes.
- You are not charged. Missed codes are refunded to your wallet automatically.
- Try again later with a new number. A different +82 number may get through.
- Check the app's rules. Some services do not accept virtual numbers. When that happens, no amount of retrying will help, and the refund covers you.
How to request a Korean Cloud Number
Only US, Canadian and Puerto Rican Cloud Numbers are instant and self-serve. A South Korean Cloud Number is on request.
Open the dashboard and choose "Request another country." Our team will confirm whether a +82 number is available, the price, and whether local rules call for an address or ID check before activation. How long that takes depends on the country.
When the number is active you can make and take calls in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari without installing anything, read texts in the SMS inbox (SMS depends on the number), forward calls to your phone and use voicemail. It fits overseas companies selling into Korea, teams working with Korean partners, and anyone who wants a stable second phone number with a +82 prefix. For nearby markets, see Japan and Taiwan.
Topping up the wallet
